About Us

Cyfle, meaning opportunity in Welsh, is the training company for the creative industries in Wales, with training centres in Caernarfon and Cardiff.
Cyfle was established in 1986 in order to train technicians for the industry in response to the creation of S4C.
Since then, we have established a reputation for delivering a variety of high quality structured training schemes in English and Welsh, which are purposely designed to meet the demands of a rapidly changing industry.
What we do
Cyfle offers practical training support to industry professionals and newcomers.
We run innovative full time, part time and short courses for both new entrants to the industry and for professionals looking to up-skill or make a career change.
Each year, our training schemes continuously adapt and develop according to industry needs. This is done through constant contact with producers, the Sector Skills Councils and broadcasters.

- Ability to respond to training needs in a timely and practical way
- Cutting edge training provision in Multiplatform and Digital Media, as well as traditional roles such as Research and Production Skills
- Train directly with industry via placements and industry briefs

Cyfle International
In 2006, Cyfle established its commercial branch, ‘Cyfle International’, designed to strengthen international links and provide company attachments. Cyfle International’s business objective is to provide a niche training service for emerging markets in international geographies. We have since delivered short courses for organisations such as FINAS, The Malaysian Film Development Corporation, and ESMA The Singapore Media Academy.

Creative and Innovative Training
Our mission for the future is to continue to serve the ever changing requirements of a bilingual and expanding creative industry.
We will do this by delivering creative, innovative and highly focused training, and by maintaining our strong relationships with the independent companies, freelancers and broadcasters in Wales.
We will also continue to work closely with Skillset Cymru, higher and further education partners in Wales, as well as Creative and Cultural Skills and other agencies interested in exploring the creative media world.
We are a not-for-profit organisation, a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee.
Cyfle has been awarded the Investors in People seal of approval since 1995, and has been a Skillset Approved Assessment Centre Status for industry qualifications since 1994.
