JAQUELINE DAVIES

Assistant Script Editor TraineeJaqueline davies_Qm05f_case_study_m.jpg

"Fascinating, frightening, fun, fast paced, enjoyable, eye-opening, hard work and that’s just on an average day with Cyfe. A fantastic base to start work in the industry"

What were you doing before becoming a trainee on a Cyfle scheme?
English and Popular Culture Graduate and self employed finance person.

How did you hear about Cyfle, and what were your expectations?
I heard about Cyfle working at Green Bay Media during a summer break in university.

I had a very high expectation of Cyfle and the training given.

Please list the projects you have worked on and note who was involved in the production:

Film Agency Wales:

  • Working with the Talent Development Executive
  • Reading Scripts and producing Reports
  • Short film schemes in Britain project
  • Films showing in worldwide festivals project

Crash:

  • Working for Red Planet Pictures
  • Was Assistant Script Editor on entire production of two series of the BBC Wales drama.

Which aspects / elements of the work have you enjoyed the most?
I have really enjoyed working on a production seeing the writing process through to the filming and then finally seeing it on screen. The whole journey was hard work, immensely interesting and thoroughly enjoyable. There was a great team spirit on the crew of Crash and we all wanted to make the programme the best it could possibly be.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What would you have liked to achieve by then?
In ten years time I would like to have worked as a script editor and have moved into producing.
