Lowri Evans, Company Placement 2 2009
LOWRI EVANS
Trainee Researcher
What were you doing before becoming a trainee on a Cyfle scheme?
Completed a Welsh and Welsh History degree before pursuing an MA in Welsh History at Aberystwyth University. Spent a year travelling around the world.
How did you hear about Cyfle, and what were your expectations?
I saw an advert in the Daily Post. I thought this could be a way into the media industry, and be able to gain a better understanding of the field.
List the projects you have worked on and note who was involved in the production:
- Sioe Gelf (Geraint Ellis)
- Popeth ar Ffilm (Ifor ap Glyn)
- Eisteddfod yr Urdd (Olwen Meredydd)
- Ffit 100% (Emyr Gruffydd)
- Fferm Ffactor (Neville Hughes, Non Griffith)
Which aspects / elements of the work have you enjoyed the most?
Working on ‘Fferm Ffactor’. Developing an idea from the start and seeing the whole process develop – this is very rewarding after all the hard work. This is a brilliant opportunity to get to grips with the industry. It is an eye-opener into the whole process – from developing ideas into seeing your ideas on the television. Good opportunity to create contacts and to gain experience in new fields.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What would you have liked to achieve by then?
Working amongst people. Have more life experience – and the opportunity to travel more.
